EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM IN NIGERIA PROBLEM AND PROSPECT

My keywords today will move round the Nigeria education; problems; prospects; standards; research and development.Today articles examine the problems and prospects of education in Nigeria. Education is the bedrock of development but unfortunately education in nigeria is bisected with myriad's of problems. these include poor funding and thus poor educational infrastructures, inadequate classrooms, teaching aids (projects, computers, laboratories and libraries), paucity of quality teachers and poor/polluted learning environment in addition to these inadequacies, our schools system is plaugued with numerous social vices such asw examination malpractices, cultism, hooliganism and corruption.for meaningful development to take place in the educational sector, the government need to re-address the issue of funding private educational investors, teachers, parents/guidance and students/pupils need a reorientation towards achieving the goals of education. Also education must be made affordable for all and sundry. The current monolistic approach to knowledge acquisition must be changes.Technical education and innovation/adaptation centers must be encouraged well funded if this nation move out of this present technological and scientific dependence.Government and organized private sectors must as well fund research programmes inventions and mass prodcution of invented products.Orientation and educational standardin view of the prevalence of examination malpractices and other related irregularities in schools at all levels this days, the interest and habit of reading procurement of books and other skills development materials has drastically dwindled among a number of student. The two areas of main interest to growing numbers of student now are: fashion and influencing of examination result "blocking" Thus, portraying the educational system more of glamour to real learing and skill acquisition by prospective students. This trend is also observed to have close relationship with rising sexual promiscuity among students.Poor parenting/guardanceparenting entails caring, protection, guardance, provision of basic needs for a child upkeeping in order for him or her to be properly equipped to meet with the challenges of life, in accordance with the laws of the land. In desperation, many parents have decided to bring in additional innovation by way of not only involve in encouraging, but also finance activities in and around examination venues to effect malpractices in order to bringhten the chances of their children or wads in qualifying examination to higher institutions and some even progress on this act through the tertiary level of education.Prospects of education in nigeria, The need for research developmentEvery one who cherish genuine growth and sustainable development, goverment, private and corporate organization, non-governmental organization and individuals should as a a matter of due responsibility encourage and finance research programmes, inventions and mass production of invented products as a way of discouraging prospectives student from indulging in any form of academic irregularities, who may not have seen any good or meaningful on the part of those who have be hardworking and creative, research and invention wise in terms of reward for their effort. Currently research interest by the government at all levels and corporate organization is nothing to write home about.SuggestionsGoverment and the private sectors should pull in more effort and resources towards the development of education.Educating and re-orientating of teachers, parents and student on the need to discourage examination malpractice in schools.More vacational and techinical education centers be establish and few existing ones properly equipped and staffed. An independent inspectorate committeshould be put in place to regularly monitor activities in schools as the existing inspectorate units has size to function effectively.Government should take over payment of enrolment fees for both primary six examination and secondary schools external examination.Qualitative and affordable education be made available for all.School should be properly staffed and equipped.applicant seeking job placment irrespective of grades obtained and institutions attended should be given fair and equal opportunity to compete for placment.

THE IMPACT OF NIGERIA GOVERNMENT IN EDUCATIONAL SECTOR

Today my acticle is going to move round the impact of Nigeria government on educational sector, i will be analysing the effort and there impact in the system and also comparing Nigeria education with other Europian Institution, using Sweden as a case study.
Sweden is located on the east side of the Scandinavian Peninsula in North Europe. It is bound by Finland, the Gulf of Bothnia and the Baltic Sea to the east, Kattegat to the southwest and Norway to the west and northwest. The Government of sweden play a vital role in the educational sector, in sweden education is free for both citizen and non citizen ( International Student) .
In Nigeria reverse is the case, the so called leader we have forgot they all enjoyed free education during the Awolowo and Zik period, they make the citizen suffer and try to educate there children through there anus.
If government are not helping the masses in terms of giving free tuition and providing basic facilities, maintaining the student learning enviroment, they should try and provide for the lecturers and teachers that teache this little children because the program or courses student are supposed to take for 4-5 years are taking them time because of the strike.
Nigerian Government should try and learn from the europian and take some of there activities into plan.
